EXCELLO Co., Ltd., a company specializing in AI solutions for high-temperature and extreme-environment equipment, announced that it signed an 'AI Solution' supply agreement with Tata Steel Limited, a leading global steelmaker based in India, on June 5, 2026.

This agreement is significant in that EXCELLO's AI-based, entire-surface-area temperature-monitoring and analysis technology for high-temperature equipment—accumulated across steel processes at home and abroad—has been recognized in the global market, securing the company's first reference with a major overseas steelmaker.

This supply targets the ladle, a core piece of equipment in Tata Steel's steelmaking process. The ladle (a vessel for transporting molten steel) is a key facility that carries and handles molten steel at temperatures exceeding 1,500°C. Because the equipment is protected by internal refractory material (a substance highly resistant to high temperatures), issues such as refractory damage, localized overheating, and temperature deviation are critical management concerns that directly affect operational stability, quality, and maintenance costs.

The AI solution supplied by EXCELLO consists of surface temperature sensors that measure the temperature across the entire surface area of the ladle equipment, a communication module, and a real-time monitoring system. Based on real-time, entire-area temperature data collected in extreme environments, it precisely monitors the equipment's thermal condition, enabling a shift from the conventional, operator-experience-based management approach toward AI-driven equipment management.

Tata Steel is a representative global steelmaker operating large-scale sites across major regions worldwide. Within the steel industry, this supply agreement is regarded as an early benchmark, demonstrating that EXCELLO's proprietary technology can operate reliably even in overseas steel equipment environments.

EXCELLO's solution is designed to visualize and analyze actual, measured full-area temperature data from high-temperature equipment using its own AI algorithms. As operational data continues to accumulate, the scope of application can be expanded significantly into AI-based predictive maintenance, including:

       Predicting refractory lifespan

       Determining optimal replacement timing

       Optimizing preheating for energy savings

       Early detection of equipment anomalies

Building on this record of Tata Steel supply, EXCELLO plans to accelerate its expansion into global markets. The company aims to extend deployment to other production lines and additional equipment within the same customer, while fully activating its sales network targeting other steel mills in India, as well as major overseas steelmakers.

In addition, EXCELLO is expected to sign AI solution supply agreements with Hyundai Steel and POSCO in the near future, further strengthening its presence among leading domestic steelmakers.

Cho Yong-ho, CSO of EXCELLO, said, “This Tata Steel supply agreement is a starting signal for the full-scale application of EXCELLO's high-temperature equipment data collection and analysis technology in the global field. In step with the digital transformation (DX) trend of the steel industry, we will actively expand the scope of our solution's application to major customers at home and abroad.”

Meanwhile, EXCELLO continues to advance its AI- and proprietary-algorithm-based equipment condition diagnosis technology for high-temperature and extreme-environment equipment in steel processes. Furthermore, building on its experience in the steel sector, the company plans to gradually expand its business into advanced industries that utilize extreme-environment equipment, such as non-ferrous metals, aerospace, and defense.
